Details regarding K. Tumanov’s identity are scant. It is possible that the photographer was a relative of another Tiflis-based studio proprietor, A. A. Tumanov. His surviving photographs are few in number, and were made at the turn of the 20^thcentury. Two of these photographs are outdoor group portraits representing the students and teachers from a boys gymnasium in Tiflis. It is probable that Tumanov specialized in this type of outdoor group photographs for various local educational institutions.
