Studio Vram
1930 - 1950s
Thе photo-pavilion Studio Vram belonged to an Armenian photographer based in Cairo or Alexandria, where the majority of Egyptian-Armenian photographers were located.
The studio specialized in the production of ‘a-la-mode’ portraits typical of Egypt’s interwar cosmopolitan culture. Judging from the few surviving photographs, Vram’s customers tended to be of middle-class background whose portraits are created in a streamlined, ‘pure’ style characteristic of 1950s international modernism. Biographical details about photographer have not been found.
