Studio Arshak

Arshak's photography studio operated in Baghdad between the 1940s and 1970s. It was one of the most famous and long-lasting photographic establishments of the city. Judging from surviving photographs, he specialized mainly in portraiture, producing photographs intended for professional, intimate or festive purposes. These images clearly reflect the advanced modernity of the mid-20th century Iraq. The photographer's biographical details have not been located at this stage.
