Sissaguian was an Armenian photographer working at the beginning of the 20th century in the Bulgarian city of Dobritch (it was part of Romania between 1913-40). The photographer’s studio carried his name, about which we have no archival or bibliographical records. Some of the very few known portraits made by Sissaguian tend towards a more ‘artistic’ expressivity in their simple yet atmospheric lighting and compositional solutions.
