We know almost nothing of the Palestinian-based photographer Kegham (Gegham). From a few dated photographs that have come to light, it is evident that Kegham’s studio was located in Gaza city and worked, for the most part, during the 1950s. While his portrait sittings are quite conventional for the times and are clearly influenced by the Egyptian glam-mod studio photography, they are also full of telling details about the Palestenian society during and in the wake of the Arab-Israeli war of 1948.
