The studio of photographer Garbis, established in Egypt’s commercial and industrial town of Tanta, operated during the 1920s. Garbis’ portraits are modern and lively, and are often resolved with a theatrically performative flair. Unfortunately, the few photographs we have from Photo Garbis do not allow us to form a general outline of his work. No biographical details were discovered during our research.
