G. A. Manukov (Manukyan)
1900 - 1910s
Precise facts regarding this Alexandrapol-based photographer have not come to light. Manukov’s pavilion was active, for around a decade between the 1900s and 1910s. The business mainly provided services for individual and family photographs in the accepted formats of early 20th century studio photography. Offering enlargements of ‘any size’, the studio – as noted on the photographer’s seal - also kept an archive of all the negatives, which is now lost. Much like the production of other studios from this provincial outpost of the Russian Empire, Manukov's portraits contain a wealth of information about the everyday life of Alexandrapol’s populace, their customs, and especially costumes and changes in fashion.
