Hamazasp Khachatryan
1960 - 1980s
As a photojournalist, Hamazasp Khachatryan made his first steps in the press in the early 1960s. He has worked in the field of documentary reportage and portraiture and a number of his photographs regularly appeared in ‘Hayastani Ashkhatavoruhi’ (Armenia’s Female Worker) and ‘Sovetakan Hayastan’ (Soviet Armenia) journals. Several of his images were also included in the 1980 photo album ‘Children of Armenia’.
Judging from his photograph ‘A Handful of Eternity’ from the mid-1980s, Khachatryan sought to explore allegorical and symbolic motifs in his works, but such images were rarely published in the press. No other biographical information about the photographer has been found.
