Arshak Karagyozian

In 1922 Arshak Karagyozian emigrated from Constantinople to Greece and sometime later, to Egypt. His photography studio ‘Arshak’ was located in Cairo, and, according to Vahan Kochar’s biographical dictionary, was founded in 1937. As the journal International Photographer reported in 1940, Karagyozian had become the official photographer of the Egyptian King Farouk. He occupied this post until the king’s dethronement in 1952.
