We have been unable to trace the any biographical details concerning Minas Hovhannisyants’ life and practice. It is known only that the photographer worked in a town located in Georgia, possibly Tiflis or Batumi. Only a few photographs bearing his seal have surfaced during our research from which we can conclude thatHovhannisyants was largely making studio portraits. These portraits are of generic quality and have little appeal beyond their historical-memorial functions.
