The photographer’s biographical details have not come to light. His few surviving photographs were mainly made in the 1860s, which gives us reason to assume that the Hisarlian’s studio operated only for a short time or was renamed after being sold to another photographer. Amidst Hisarlian's more notable photographs are the ‘roleplay’ cdv portraits of Armenian actors from Constantinople.
