Facts regarding G. K. Grigoriants' biography and practice are scant. The few photographs bearing the backstamp of his studio located on the Alexandrovskaya Street in Kars, do not give a complete picture of his creative or professional ambitions or inclinations. It is obvious, however, that Grigoriants was taken by the turn of the 20^th century fashion for glamorous photography techniques of the Belle Epoque. Through a rather elemental and superficial application of these decorative tactics, the photographer attempted to bestow his portraits of diverse sitters with a certain sense of psychological depth and emotional mood.
