Albert Geghchiparyan
1970 - 1980s
Several of Geghchiparyan’s landscape and genre photographs appeared in the magazine ‘Garun’ (Spring) and ‘Sovetakan Hayastan’ (Soviet Armenia) magazines in the course of 1970s-80s. Judging from these reproductions, he was either a photography amateur, or a freelance photo-correspondent. The tendency to poeticize nature dominates Geghchiparyan’s images, but the photographer remained firmly within the frameworks of ‘realist’ representation by avoiding any overtly formalist effects. Biographical details have not been discovered in the course of our research.
