B. Doumanian
1940 - 1950s
Very little is known about the life and work of this photographer. Doumanian's studio was quite an ordinary affair and serviced the middle and working classes of Jordan’s capital. The known photographs, which bear his seal are principally individual, group and bridal portraits and the photographer does not appear to have produced images in other genres. Even though Doumanyan's photographs barely rise above amateur quality, they are undeniably valuable visual evidence regarding modernity’s social effects in Jordan during the first half of the twentieth century.
