In 1953, Asaryan moved to Santos, Brazil, together with his parents. Having trained as a photographer, he established his Andranik studio in 1968 and has since worked in commercial especially in fashion, trade and industrial photography. From his first days as a professional photographer Asaryan has also documented many of the cultural events and happenings in the Armenian community of Santos.
