A. M. Aniev
1900 - 1910s
Aniev is one of the three Armenian photographers working in the town of Nukhi at the beginning of the 20th century. Like these other photographers, Aniev's studio 'Luys' (Light) was a handsomely furnished establishment and specialized only in the making of portraits. Other types of photographs from this studio are not known. Those photographs that have come down to us date from the 1900-10s and represent individuals and families from Nukhi's predominantly Armenian population. They provide a general impression of a community that lived a relatively modern and prosperous life until 1921 Bolshevik revolution. No other information regarding the photographer has come to light.
