Emma Khachiki Akulyan (Mirzoyan)

A resident of the Zharkovsk town of Kalinin region, Emma Akulyan engaged in photography as part of the family custom. According to the details published by Vahan Kochar, Emma received her technical skills from her mother-in-law, and after receiving professional qualifications in 1965, went on to independent practice. In 1969 she moved to Kirovakan, where she founded her Lager photography studio, which was active until 1977.
Also working as a studio photographer was Akulyan's brother, Lyova, who earnt his experience working as retoucher for his sister.
