Harutyunyan's reportage and documentary photographs were made in the 1950s and 1960s and published in the journals Hayastani Ashkhatavoruhi (Armenian Female Worker) and Sovetakan Hayastan (Soviet Armenia). While these are predominantly illustrative and didactic images, they are, nevertheless, interesting from the perspective of cultural studies and specifically, the history of propagation of female labor in Soviet-Armenian photography. We have been unable to locate any biographical details about the photographer.
