Facts pertaining to the photographer’s biography have not been found. In the 1950s and 1960s, Gyulidjanyan worked for the Soviet-Armenian press as a photo-correspondent. His photographs published in journals such as Hayastani Ashkhatavoruhi (Armenian Female Worker) are fairly simplistic and direct records of labor that at their best, rely on the traditional schemes of 1950s international humanist photography.
