Facts regarding this photographer’s life and practice have not come to light. Aslanyan’s published works originate from the 1950s and are primarily reportages and photo-chronicles. He was a correspondent for the illustrated journal ‘Sovetakan Hayastan’ (Soviet Armenia) and ‘Khorhrdayin Hayastan’ ‘Soviet Armenia’ newspaper. Aslanyan's photos reproduced in these periodicals propagandize Armenia’s economic and cultural achievements and have considerable interest in the context of cultural studies and the social history of Armenian photography.
