Van (William) Aryan (Poghosyan)

Van Aryan took photographs at a young age, and since 1970 has published his work in many of the republican newspapers in Armenia. In 1982 he became Artistic Editor of ‘Garun’ (Spring) magazine and concurrently thought courses in photojournalism at the Department of Social Science of the Yerevan State University. From the 1980s, Aryan transferred to Hayfilm Studio, where he shot and directed a number of short documentary films. He also has a literary career and is a member of the Writers' Union of Armenia. In 1993 Aryan founded the ‘Van Aryan’ publishing house, which is active to this day.
