1920 - 1930s
Aida Studiowas founded in the 1920s in Alexandriaby K. Artinian, about whom we have no precise biographical information. The photographs made by the studio are ordinary portraitsof individuals, family groups and large collectives. Judging from a number of captionedimages, Artinian had close ties with the Armenian community in Alexandria and regularly photographedArmenian cultural events and assemblies. Albeitroutine, these photographs are very interesting for the historiographical studiesof Egypt’sArmenian communities. No relation between Artinian and the famous Cairo-based photographer Arakel Artinian has been discovered.
