A. V. Ananyan

1900 - 1910s

Almost nothing is known about this photographer based in Batumi, except for the address of his studio, on 14 Giorgievskaya Street. Not far from Ananyan was the establishment of his competitor, U. Fetvadjian, who was the better-known of Armenian photographers working in Batumi.

Ananyan's pavilion producedrather automated and very conventional cabinet portraits with. The more interesting out of these, are the portraits of soldiers, sailors and merchants who were temporarily stationed in this port town.

Judging from surviving material the studio was in operation until the late 1910s.
